What earth resistance value should my installation achieve?
Per IS 3043, the earth resistance at the main earthing busbar should be ≤1Ω for power installations and ≤2Ω for general buildings. For sensitive equipment like data centres or hospitals, we recommend ≤0.5Ω. Multiple earth pits with parallel electrodes and BFC compound can be used to achieve lower values in high-resistivity soil.

How often should earthing systems be tested?
Annual testing is mandatory for industrial installations per IS 3043. For environments with corrosive soil, chemical exposure, or heavy monsoon seasons, we recommend semi-annual testing. Post-lightning-strike testing is also essential. Our digital earth testers provide precise 4-point Wenner method readings.
